Welcome! to FTC Photos!

Here I hope to share a few of the photos I have taken over the last few years traveling by car and boat. For the last 10 years we have boated from Ireland to Alaska, especially Lake Powell, the Inside Passage of British Columbia and up the Mississippi River system from St. Louis to southern Michigan. All of these venues are extremely scenic and offer an ameteur photographer spectacular photo opportunities.

In the summer of 2006 we spent three months driving to and around Alaska and cruising the Bering Sea (incuding visits to uninhabited locations in extreme eastern Russia).

☞ Cramalot Inn

We have been houseboating on Lake Powell for over 40 years, sharing a group owned houseboat for many years. After our retirement in 1998, we sought out a vessel for ourselves. We named our houseboat, appropriately, Cramalot Inn. Here are a few pictures.

☞  Lake Powell

There is no other lake quite like Lake Powell in the world. Imagine boating on a version of the Grand Canyon partially filled with water. It is not a lake in the typical sense. It is not a big puddle. It is a beautiful canyon. One hundred eighty six miles long when full, it has 96 canyons, which vary from quite short to 65 miles long. Here are a few shots from 2008.

☞  Alaska

In the summer of 2006 we spent three months driving to Alaska. Traveling some 14,000 miles on the highway, by boat, and in the air and hiking, we had a fabulous time. I tallied 11 modes of trave from small aircraft to zodiac rafts.
